This Fall, thanks to our community's support, we are continuing our Neighborly Needs program serving hot meals three days a week at South Park Community center. While Neighborly Needs has always been central to our work at Wasat, we have greatly increased our offerings since the beginning of the pandemic. Led by Wasat co-founder and board member Sam Chesneau and a stellar group of volunteers, we have served over 1,200 meals each month since the beginning of the pandemic.

By partnering with Urban Fresh Food Collective, an organization that has been on the forefront of the effort to provide fresh and healthy food to underserved communities in South Seattle, we have been able to have an immediate and increased positive impact in our community.

We want to express our deep gratitude to each and every Wasat donor and supporter: you have all made this possible! By the grace of God, since the start of the pandemic we have served well over 75,000 meals to the hungry.

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, said, "Oh people, exchange greetings of peace, feed people, strengthen the ties of kinship, and pray while others are asleep, and you will enter paradise in peace." We pray that Allah accepts from each individual of our community to be counted amongst those who feed people for the sake of Allah.
